When do you offer programs?
Each year, we present a full slate of free school-year and summer programs that are created to offer a wide range of schedule options.
What ages are eligible for your programs?
Our programs are designed to appeal to a wide range of ages. We have programming for children, teens, adults, schools, community groups, and teaching artists, and strive to create intergenerational opportunities for families and communities. Our programs are open to anyone with an interest in the performing arts. Participants must be in the grade level or age group indicated for each program regardless of previous experience.
How do I sign up for a program?
To register for programs, follow the instructions given in each specific program description or contact us by email for more information.
What are the criteria for participating in a program?
Most of our programs do not require any previous performing arts experience, just an interest in learning. For multi-session programs, students must be able to attend all sessions and will be accepted based on availability and by the thoughtfulness of their interview or audition (if applicable). Incomplete or late registrations will not be accepted.
How much does it cost to participate?
Thanks to the generosity of our funders, all of our programs are FREE to participants. There are no registration fees or tuition costs.
Where do the programs take place?
Programs take place at Citi Performing Arts Center, located at 270 Tremont Street in Boston, in Boston Public Schools, in Boston neighborhoods and in partner community organizations. Please see detailed program information for specific program locations. Directions to the Citi Wang Theatre are available here. We are accessible via public transportation, and there is limited metered, on-street parking in the area, as well as several pay lots. We do not offer parking validation.
Who teaches the programs?
Professionally-trained Teaching Artists with expertise in their art form and teaching experience lead all of our programs. Many of our Teaching Artists work in the Boston area as professional actors, musicians, performers, and college professors.
What if I need special accommodations?
Please call 617-532-1256 with any special accommodations. We welcome individuals with disabilities for all our programs and ask for a minimum of two weeks notice for special accommodations or materials. Every effort will be made to accommodate participant's individual needs.
