Nicolas Perez, a pianist born and raised in Boston and member of the Boston Arts Academy Alumni Corps, began playing piano at the age of 11. He has performed for local Boston instituations, including Fidelity Future Stage, State Street Corporations, and The Boston Pops. Perez previously performed at Wally’s Jazz Café, Berklee Performance Center, Boston Conservatory, Boston Symphony Hall, Tony Williams Jazz Festival, Heineken Jazz Festival Puerto Rico, Berklee Encore Gala, Beantown Jazz Festival, Boston Celtics Gala, Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s inauguration, Governor Deval Patrick’s Mansion, Boogie Jazz Club in Madrid, Spain and Café Mercedes in Valencia, Spain. Perez performed with a variety of artists, including Stevie Wonder’s percussionist Fausto Cuevas, salsa artist Willy Colon, Latin Pop Star Luis Enrique, Ruben Blades, and Paco de Lucia. Perez was awarded Judges’ Choice and Most Outstanding Musician in the U.S. for Small Combos at the Berklee Jazz Festival. Perez is currently studying at Berklee College of Music, dual majoring in Contemporary Writing & Production and Performance.
