Directions & Parking

LOCATION:

The Emerson Colonial Theatre is located in downtown Boston, directly across from the Boston Common at 106 Boylston Street, just a half a block west of Tremont Street. The theatre is conveniently located on both major subway routes, and is surrounded by numerous parking lots and indoor parking garages.

FROM THE NORTH: Take 93 south to EXIT 26 (RT-8 / RT – 3 N) toward STORROW DRIVE / NORTH STATION – travel 1.5mi. Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto MA-28 S / STORROW DRIVE / MA-3 N and continue on MA–28 S for 0.7 mi. Turn LEFT onto BEACON ST / MA-28 and immediately turn RIGHT onto ARLINGTON ST. At the 3rd set of lights, turn LEFT onto BOYLSTON ST – making sure to cross over to the RIGHT LANES. After the next set of lights at Charles St. the Colonial is on the right.

FROM THE SOUTH: Take 93 North to Exit 20 – I-90 W / LOGAN AIRPORT / WORCESTER / SOUTH STATION. Take the exit towards I-90 WEST / WORCESTER / SOUTH STATION. Take the exit on the LEFT towards SOUTH STATION / CHINATOWN. At the lights, take a LEFT onto KNEELAND ST. KNEELAND ST becomes STUART ST. Follow KNEELAND for five sets of lights. At the fifth set, you are forced to take a right onto CHARLES ST. Take the next right onto BOYLSTON ST. The theatre is ½ block up on the right hand side across from the Boston Common.

FROM THE WEST: Take the Mass Pike (90 East). Follow signs for the Prudential Center / Copley Square (exit #22), staying to the right for Copley Square. The exit merges above ground with Stuart Street. Continue traveling straight on Stuart Street for five sets of lights. At the fifth set of lights, take a left onto Charles Street. Take the next right onto Boylston Street. The theatre is ½ block up on the right hand side across from the Boston Common.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Take the Green line to the “Boylston Stop.” You will come out at the corner of Tremont and Boylston Streets. The theatre is diagonally across the street on Boylston.

Take the Orange line to the New England Medical Center Stop. You will come out onto Washington Street. Turn left and walk ½ block to Stuart Street. Turn left again and walk one block up Stuart to Tremont Street. Turn right on Tremont and walk one block. Turn left onto Boylston Street. The theatre is ½ block up on the right hand side.

BUSING INFORMATION: Bus arrangements cannot be made for dropping off groups and picking them up. The only drop-off is in front of the Theatre at 106 Boylston Street. Therefore, the bus company must make it own arrangements for bus parking during the performance.
